The CAREPATH project officially kicked off on June 4–5, 2025 at the Novo Nordisk Conference Center in Favrholm, Denmark. Partners from 12 European countries gathered to align on the project’s mission: improving medication adherence and persistence in chronic conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Funded by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), CAREPATH is a five-year project that will develop and test a flexible toolbox of interventions tailored to local healthcare systems across Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and beyond.

The two-day meeting featured presentations from patient representatives, academic experts, and industry leaders, including a keynote by Géraldine Joanny (IHI). Among the attendees were representatives from the Medical University of Lodz (UMED): Prof. Przemysław Kardas, Dr. Paweł Lewek, and Dr. Ewelina Łojewska.

This kick-off marks a key step toward personalised, sustainable support for patients throughout Europe.
