COPD-ALERT Project

COPD-ALERT is an international research project aimed at improving the management of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict disease exacerbations. The project integrates real-world data, including information on treatment adherence, to support a more personalized and predictive approach to care. The project is implemented over the period from January 2025 to December 2027.
The project is funded under the HU-RIZON International Excellence Program Call 2024 and is implemented through an international collaboration. The consortium is led by the University of Pécs (Hungary), with partners from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) and the Medical University of Lodz (Poland).
At the Medical University of Lodz, the project is carried out by the Center for Research on Therapeutic Adherence, which is responsible for investigating the role of treatment adherence and integrating adherence-related data into AI-based predictive models. The project aims to improve clinical outcomes for patients with COPD and to contribute to the development of innovative decision-support tools for predictive healthcare.
